Welcome to our first Low Waste Living workshop!
If one of your New Year resolutions is to learn how to reduce plastic waste then this workshop is perfect for you! Together we will up-cycle fabrics and turn them into new reusable products that are simple swaps in the home to reduce plastic use and waste.
Megan will guide you through some of the simpler swaps in the kitchen, in a friendly, non-overwhelming way, to help you reduce waste and save money too!
Then we’ll learn how to sew reusable kitchen sponges (also known as unsponges), kitchen towel (unpaper towel) and reusable produce bags.
This session is suitable for beginners and skilled sewers. Class sizes are kept small making sure that everyone gets attention and assistance when needed. All Simply Repair workshops are relaxed, comfortable and open to all.
What you will learn
- How to sew basic stitches on a sewing machine.
- Simple techniques that can be used for making other reusable items at home.
- A brief introduction to low waste living.
