Do you own an old piece of jewellery that has the potential to be something more wearable, but currently isn’t working? Perhaps it’s a piece with sentimental value, or something you found in a charity shop that needs to be remodelled?
Join us and learn, step-by-step, how to design and make beautiful new vintage-style jewellery pieces out of old jewellery and a minimum of new components.
This relaxed pace, small group workshop is suitable for beginners and all skill levels.
You will learn how to:
- dismantle old jewellery pieces using snipe nose and flat nose pliers and cutters
- assemble new pieces using wires (and in some cases glue)
- attach new beads and chains, etc using jump rings and fittings from other jewellery
We will provide:
- old jewellery pieces (in case you don’t have your own – please bring your own if you can)
- all tools and materials
- step-by-step instruction and printed worksheets to take home
- hot drinks and biscuits (organic and palm oil-free)
What to bring
- any pieces of costume jewellery (whole or broken) that you would like to upcycle
- snipe nose & flat nose pliers and cutters if you have them (if not, we’ll have plenty available to borrow or buy)
- cash to buy a small set of jeweller’s tools, if you wish (set includes a jump ring opener, 3 in 1 pliers and a metal file for £20)
